R75/6
« on: August 25, 2016, 10:37:57 PM »
I got the R75 frame and other goodies back from Alpine powder coat today and Garry at Garry's custom painting is almost done with the paint,,, and she is looking good (rock)...... Been busy cleaning and gathering new parts so I can start the assembly part. I want to black out the bike as much as possible, and that can turn into a challenge at times, every nut and bolt has to be cleaned and painted or coated.. Here's a few pic's

Great looking project.  I am sure I saw your frame at Alpine when I stopped in to see Gary P.   He did a great job for me on our '74 CB750.  Will you be ready for the show next June?

Hi Rick,
I am thinking of going black for my rd400f too. when you say "every nut and bolt has to be cleaned and painted or coated", what do you plan on doing.
I am taking all of the nuts/bolts and putting them in muriatic acid, etch them and possibly paint them.

just looking for your ideas.
Thanks,
~Aasim

Be careful etching them with muriatic, you don't want to take anything off of the thread area.
