Honda tail light wiring
« on: February 10, 2015, 05:04:16 PM »
I am attempting to put a brake light back onto a 1982 Honda XL250. It had a stock tail light but that is long gone. The wiring under the fender looks complete (as in the person who removed the old light didn't just snip wires) but there are five wires (green, green with a yellow stripe, grey?, brown and orange. The generic tail light assembly I bought of course has only three wires. (black, white and red). Anyone know what Honda wire colors are what?. All suggestions are welcome  :)

Blue is turn right
Orange turn left
Green/Yellow brake
Green ground
Brown taillight
Grey is a mystery to me but might have been for a license plate light, since the xl's were street legal.

No problem, actually now that I'm reading this again, the grey is probably a faded blue......
