Look what followed me home!
« on: July 20, 2012, 06:42:26 PM »
Well, I put out feelers to find a Super 90 Honda Frame so I could build a tiddler cafe racer out of it. I wanted something not so complete so I wouldn't feel bad about altering it from stock. I went today to look at one and it followed me home! It probably wouldn't have appened but ... well... we've all been there and here it is.

Just incase it doesn't quite look right too you, there is a reason... Some one along the way extended the swingarm, welded extenders on the shock mounts, put a high mount fender on it, MX bars and made a dualsport creation out of her... but the indicated miles aren't bad... think that's accurate?

I'm totally going for a tiddler race bike look, feel and function... like this...

Wish me luck... I'm still getting the 750 finished first but This is sitting in the wings waiting... staring... wanting me to start... I may have both going at the same time soon.

Now someone else get one like it so we can race! I think there's a Yamaha on Craigsist!

We have the start of a tiddler gang!Your's already has the seat shape and an enduro tank... Your more than half way there! Clipons and a dust bin fairing and you've got an early GP replica.

Nice! this is like my next project too. Iím building a 50cc though. I'm going to use it as my daily commuter to work. I guess you could say it'll be like my custom moped.  ;D

Here are some pics

Or i thought about going really extreme like this

Good luck!!!!

Hey Sensei.... is this what your looking for?

I still think we need a swarm of these things racing around town... even EYE-Talian ones ::).. Don't get twisted up now... I'm talking about tiddler cafe motorcycles... not scooters (not that there's anything wrong with scooters, I just don't have a pork-pie hat/helmet to wear on a scooter)

I am about to start on the seat for mine... carving it outta foam and glassing it up... pictures to soon follow.

As promised... No seat yet. I replaced the "modified" swingarm and removed 2 and a half wiring harnesses from her today. I swear there was 12 pounds of wiring harnesses and pieces of wiring harnesses stuffed in the frame.

I sat the RD tank I had to see the profile and I think I like how the bike sits. The tank is entirely too wide and heavy for this build but I like the side profile... A lightweight glass tank that sits a little lower will be perfect.

rearsets would be nice but my legs are way too long for the stock position already... I think they may stay put.

The more I see this the more I want to build one ! I know a guy who has a bunch of little bikes like that laying around.
That might be the next project after the the next after the current one   ;D
Brings back memories of cruising the backroads of Germany and France on my Yamaha RD 80.
